Hey everybody!!! I know I said fall was supposed to be here last month and now here we are and it still feels like summer. But music happens all year round and October is my birthday month, so let’s feed those flames with some soul vibrations!

First I wanted to give you an update on September because a couple of exciting things happened. I told you I was competing in the Atlanta Blues Challenge. Well guess what? I won!!!!! That means I’ll be heading to Memphis in January to compete in the IBC. I’ll be meeting lots of new folks and hopefully making lots of new fans. I am looking forward to sharing that journey with you. I’ve been working on a bunch of new blues songs for this, so there will be another album in production this fall. In addition to that victory, I was also recognized by Creative Loafing as their Readers’ Choice Best Acoustic Artist for their 2019 Best Of Atlanta awards. So cool!

Tonight (October 4) I will be playing with the band at Northside Tavern. Atlanta’s best dive bar and home of the blues is hosting my birthday party with my birthday twin Chad Mason on keys! Our birthday was on Wednesday but everyone who knows me knows I celebrate all week. We have the original cast of characters of the Major 7s and we are really excited about playing some new tunes for you tonight! This is going to be a PARTY. I fully expect to see a ton of you in the crowd tonight. Music starts at 10 and goes through 2 am. There’s a $10 cover, but you were gonna buy me and Chad a present anyway. Northside Tavern Website

Saturday, October 5, I will be performing with Wasted Potential at Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale. Music is from 7-10. Lost Druid Website Wasted Potential Website

Next Saturday, October 12, is Oakhurst Porchfest. This event is one of my favorite festivals all year, as there are a ton of amazing local artists scattered throughout the neighborhood. Some of the houses provide beer and snacks, but feel free to bring your own. There will be people walking all over the neighborhood with wagons, children, dogs… and awesome music piping through the streets. I play a solo set from 3-4 at 153 Kings Highway. I’ll be playing some of my songs from Unleashed, but I’ll also be playing a few new tunes, so you really don’t want to miss it. And then I will be with Wasted Potential from 5-6 at Hector’s place at 311 Madison Ave. We have had several hundred people outside that house in the past so get there early!  Porchfest starts at noon – for more info on all of the possibilities of local artists to listen to visit the Porchfest Website.

Sunday, October 13th I will be marching in the Atlanta Pride parade with Wasted Potential. This is one of the coolest events our city has, so I expect to see some friendly, loving faces in the crowd.

Thursday, 10/17 Wasted Potential will be back at Gypsy Rose in Roswell. More details to follow.

Friday, 10/18 I will be playing at Wade’s in Smyrna. This will be a solo acoustic event. I have not been to Wade’s yet, but their menu looks delicious! Looking forward to seeing some of my Smyrna friends at this new spot. Music is from 7-10:30. Wades Website

Saturday, 10/19 my band will be playing the Brookhaven Arts Festival. Get ready to take in a ton of local art. This is one talented city! There is a great lineup of music both Saturday and Sunday in Brookhaven, so plan to spend the day or the weekend! My set is at 3 pm on Saturday. Brookhaven Arts Festival

Sunday, 10/20, Mandi and the Major 7s will be back at Blind Willie’s for another gospel show! For those of you who have not made a gospel show yet, you are sincerely missing out. This day is all about spreading love! We play everything from Willie Nelson to Stevie Wonder to Mary Mary. It also happens to be Corinne’s birthday that weekend so we will be celebrating in full effect! Let’s lift each other up and share some love and light! Music is from 6:30-9:30, $6 cover. Blind Willie’s Website

Wednesday, 10/23 and Sunday, 10/27, I’ll be hanging out at my favorite local hangout, Limerick Junction in the Virginia Highlands. This is always a fun gig because I get to play different tunes than I usually do. I’ll be playing original music as well as some covers that you may or may not remember. Always a fun staff and fun people watching, Limerick is located next door to Blind Willie’s right on the heart of the strip. Music starts at 9:30 Wednesday and 9 pm Sunday. Limerick Website

Thursday, 10/24, the band and I will be at Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur. Owned by local businessman and musician Jason Waller, Waller’s has been building a solid reputation for having awesome music and sound. And of course, awesome coffee! This is a listening room and a great opportunity for you to hear some of my new music with the band. If you would like to partake in adult libations, feel free to bring your own as they are not sold on premise. If you have not discovered Waller’s yet, now is the time. Great music almost every day of the week and several other interesting events. Music is from 8-10. Waller’s Website

And last, but not least, I will be back at Ott Farms and Vineyard in Elijay on 10/26. Saturday afternoon seems like a great time to drive up to the North Georgia mountains and sip on some wine while taking in a breathtaking view and listening to my voice echo through the mountains. Music is from 1:30-5:30. Ott Farms Website
