Tonight! (May 1) The Piedmont Report Live! will be happening at Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur. Proceeds benefit our Ross Relief Fund.
American music icon Ross Pead has recently had surgery and will be out of work while recuperating. The benefit will feature Carolina Slim,
Nate Nelson, Nathalie Rose, Mandi Strachota, Joe Capo, and Mudcat, as well as a farm report with wildlife biologist Kathryn Dudeck! Let’s raise some money for our dear friend and vessel of the blues and in the meantime raise a joyous noise! Happy May Day! Music starts at 7.

This Sunday, May 4th, we will be performing another benefit for Ross at his regular gig spot, The Green Room at Mableton. Come hear great music and help Ross. Ross Pead has been playing Blues and Country and original music in Georgia since Teddy Roosevelt was President! It may seem that way, but seriously, Ross has medical issues causing a setback.
He has nerve problems that got bad enough to take him out of commission. After some time he had surgery and a month after the surgery he still cannot play his normal gig schedule; he cannot play a guitar or sing. Come hang out with Ross’ friends and have some great Green Room wood fired pizza, listen to some great music, raise a little Cain and raise some money to help Ross. Music is from 12-7. After a great lineup of players we’ll end the day with an open jam.

Saturday 5/20, I’ll be returning to the Rabbit Valley Farmer’s Market in Ringgold, GA. This event is always fun with local vendors slinging hot sauce and farm fresh eggs and other goodies, but this particular Saturday is also Dolly Fest in Ringgold, which means lots of folks dressed up in wigs and stuffed bras, which means people watch central. Come wander around the market and support local businesses, and then head to Chattanooga to hang out for the afternoon. Music starts early at 10 am. Hey, if Ringgold is good enough for Dolly to get married in, it’s good for me and it’s good for you!

Later Saturday evening (still 5/10) the Mandi Strachota Trio will be returning to Winston’s Food & Spirits in Marietta, GA. We love playing to Mandi’s neighborhood crowd so much that we’ve decided to do it the second Saturday of every month. We keep promising Shenanigans and none have been forthcoming but we’re sure if we stick with it they will come. We’ll be playing your favorite covers and soulful originals. Pub grub is delicious and served late, and booze are always ready at the wrist. Music is from 7-10.

Friday, 5/16, the Mandi Strachota Trio will be taking their tunes to downtown Woodstock to Rootstock & Vine. We love playing here. The food is delicious and upscale and the crowd is always very attentive. We’ll be playing your favorite covers and soulful originals starting at 7 pm.

Friday 5/23 Mandi and Edgar will be chomping on some world famous BBQ at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack while playing some old school blues. Get ready to get your belly full and make new friends at this Atlanta staple. Music is from 7-10.

Saturday, 5/24, I’ll be heading back up to the north GA mountains to play for my friends at Ott Farms and Vineyard. This is a fun gig as you never know what I’ll end up playing. Grab a glass of local wine, listen to some tunes, and check out the local arts & crafts for display and sale throughout the building. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can hang outside as the mountains overlook us. Music is from 1-5.

Wednesday, 5/28, Edgar and I will be heading down to Fayetteville to play at a new spot for us, Anthony’s Pizzeria. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you smell that sweet aroma. Get a slice however you like it; I promise it will be nice and greasy. We’ll be playing your favorite covers from 6-9.

Last weekend we got rained out, so we’re gonna try it again at The Third Door on Friday, 5/30. Located just off the Marietta Square, this Prohibition style bar serves you up craft cocktails and is fantastic for people watching. Get there early if you want VIP seating in the camper. Seating is first come first serve. We’ll be playing your favorite Mandi Strachota originals from 9-11:30.
