I’m getting this year started off right by sharing it with some of my favorite women in blues!! I am so excited to be part of this amazing lineup with Carly Harvey manning the show. And then to spend a couple days in Memphis hanging out with some of the best in the industry! This is gonna be awesome. And who knows, maybe we’ll get snowed in… The show is at Alfred’s on Beale on Thursday 1/9 and starts at 11:30 am. Get there early as seats often fill up quickly. But be prepared to stay for the whole weekend as events will be going through Sunday. There are so many talented artists in one spot, and you don’t need to be driving anywhere anyway.
Saturday, 1/18, the band will be returning to Rootstock in Woodstock. This is one of my favorite ‘new’ venues in the area. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming. Plus we get to play a bunch of our original music. If you guys know anything about me, you know I love places that promote original music. Downtown Woodstock is always bustling, so get there early to find parking and wander around while you’re waiting for the show. Music is from 7-10.
Sunday, 1/19, I’ll be playing some of your favorite acoustic cover tunes up in the beauty of the GA mountains. I have now gone the last 2/2 without rain, so hopefully even though it might be cold it will be a beautiful day as it has been. Nothing like a little sunshine and a little wine and some nostalgic tunes to keep the blood flowing. Ott Farms is located on Henry Evans Rd in Elijay, GA. Music is from 1:30 – 5:30. Check the Ott Farms Website to find which food truck will be feeding us.
Saturday, 2/8, the band will be returning to Olde Courthouse Tavern in Fayetteville. Thank you Marvelous Marvin for being so proactive about bringing the blues to the southside. Y’all, if you have not been down there yet, these folks seriously know how to have a good time. I don’t know if I’ve ever played at this spot when a dance party hasn’t broken out. And don’t be afraid when you see how family the regulars and staff are, because it only takes one visit to become a member of the family. Music is from 8:30-11:30. Olde Courthouse Tavern Website
Thursday, 2/13, I’ll be returning to MacCracken’s to play some originals and some of your favorite soulful and silly covers. If you’re not familiar with this Marietta Square gem, I suggest it is time. They have multiple bars with extensive beer and scotch selections (seriously, it’s like nerdy ‘bad,’ if by bad you mean freaking awesome). Food is great too, but get there early as the fish and chips and other goodness stops around 10. I suggest making a night of it and taking a rideshare so you can wander around the square, but that’s just me. Anyway, Eric will be there slinging drinks to a room full of regulars and renegades until well after I’m done at midnight. Music starts at 9. MacCracken’s Website
Saturday, 2/13, the band will be hanging out with long time Atlanta BBQ and Blues staple, Fat Matt’s. Hoping to be adding some new blues and originals to the mix while some of the sweetest staff members in town serve you up your BBQ with a smile. Fat Matt’s has been featured in many national publications and has been dedicated to local musicians for decades. Don’t be mad when you hear singing from the kitchen… Music is from 7-10,. Don’t forget to save the date for the annual Kettle Moraine Bluesfest at the Bend Theater in West Bend, WI 3/28 & 29. There will be several acts each night of the festival, including all women fronted acts on Saturday. This theater has been restored to its Vaudeville style of the 1920s and is absolutely beautiful and perfect for sound. Please join me in welcoming national and local acts in the town I grew up in. More details coming soon… The Bend Website
That’s all for now! Lots of new things coming up in the new year, including the recordings I keep promising. We are getting this band unified and together and we’re about to rise from the ashes like the beautiful Phoenix you and I both know we are. Goodbye 2024 and let’s do this 2025!!!
