Well, now that we are back working things have been crazy busy, and this month is no exception!!!

This Friday, July 9th, I will be performing at Wild Heaven on the Westside. You know how I feel about supporting local, and that of course includes local breweries. This place was the first local brewery to bring belgian ales on the scene, but they have since expanded their variety to include quite a number of styles. Happy hour begins at 5 with $1 off drafts, so get there early! Music begins at 6 and goes until 9. Wild Heaven Website

Saturday, July 10th, I will be returning to South Main Kitchen in downtown Alpharetta. I’ll be playing in the alley behind the restaurant so you can grab a brew or some delicious dinner and hang out for awhile, and then wander around downtown and check out all the places Alpharetta has to offer. Music is from 7-10. South Main Website

And then, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, this coming Sunday July 11th GOSPEL IS BACK!! I have been searching for a home for our gospel show ever since Darwin’s closed and nothing really felt right until now. My main concern was making sure y’all were able to bring your children along because I know there were a lot of kids in tow, and they do seem to get everyone dancing! And let’s face it, not all of my shows are kid friendly, and you don’t really need to be separated from your family on a Sunday afternoon. I played a lot of livestream gospel shows last year during quarantine and a lot of y’all were there with me every week. But I am looking forward to doing this again with the energy that can only be provided by a band and your beautiful smiling faces. For those of you who haven’t experienced this show yet, we do play some traditional gospel songs, but we also play some songs about spreading love and positivity that are a little outside the box. We play everything from Stevie Wonder to Taj Mahal to Willie Nelson. As long as it is about lifting each other up, which I feel like we could all use right about now! This show is a little earlier than it was in the past and a couple of the players have changed, but the vibe is still the same! We’re going to be doing this show monthly and I anticipate more special guests, but this month we have the infamous Tyler Neal joining us on bass! See you Sunday from 1-3 at Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur. Please see the Waller’s Website for any additional details.

Friday, July 16th, I am headed back down to Savannah to perform at Foxy Loxy Cafe. This is one of the first spots to give me a chance to play out of town before I booked my tour in 2019, and they are still how I’m feeding my tour bug while trying to schedule more stuff out of town the end of this year and headed into next. I know I have a lot of friends now in the Tybee/Savannah area so expect to see me there more and more often. This gig showcases my original material, and I should be sporting a few new songs by then so if you’re in the area stop by and be the first to hear the new stuff! Music is from 6-9. Saturday, 7/24, I’ll be playing at a new spot in Roswell called Texican BBQ. This spot recently replaced Chipper’s Club and I gotta say the menu looks very intriguing. Roswell’s social scene has always been exciting and I’m sure this will be no exception. Let’s light the city up with music! Join me in letting this spot know they are welcome in the area and that Roswell appreciates live music. Music is from 8-10. Check out their menu on their website here.

Friday, July 30th, I will be returning to The Third Door off the square in Marietta. A relatively new speakeasy, this place has quickly made a name for itself as a supporter of local music. It is already entrenched in the community, so let’s show some love! This is one of the rare opportunities I have to perform my original music with my band so I always look forward to playing there. Plus for me (as well as several of you) it is close to home. Plus my buddy Drew behind the bar makes some pretty tasty cocktails. Music is from 9-11:30. Hoping to see some of my Marietta peeps out at this show. Third Door Website

I have a few other private events this month, both as a solo artist and with Wasted Potential, so I’d just like to remind you that you can also hire me or any of my bands to play at your private event! Simply email me at strachotamandi@gmail.com and let me know what you are thinking about and what your budget is and we’ll see if we can make it work. We love to play private events as the setting is almost always more intimate and it really allows us to share our craft in a more honest way. And since you are bringing your own refreshments, it is often less expensive for you in the long run.

Just a reminder Wasted Potential released an EP this past month, which is available on iTunes, Spotiffy, Amazon, etc. For more details please visit the Wasted Potential Brass Band Website

That’s all for this month but there is a ton going on next month as well, including another new venue and more out of town gigs, and starting with the monthly gospel show at Waller’s on 8/1 with more special guests! Can’t wait to see all of your lovely faces. As usual, you can always check my website at www.mandistrachota.com for upcoming events.
