Hey hey hey y’all! Hope this year has been bringing out some of the positive changes I have been experiencing. Not feeling out of the woods yet, but feeling a heck of a lot better than I did a few months ago. And it’s the holiday season. So let’s celebrate. Here are some opportunities for us to do so together.
Tomorrow, Friday, 12/3, I will be back at Limerick Junction with the ever so talented Pete Maier on drums. We’ve been jamming and having a good time, and really the songs go anywhere depending on what the crowd is requesting. This place is great for street traffic and people watching, as well as excellent service and late night food. And no one minds if you drift back and forth with the place next door. Music is from 9:30-1:30. Limerick Junction Website
Sunday, 12/5, as we do the first Sunday of every month, we are playing gospel at Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur. As many of you know, our ‘gospel’ mix is sometimes traditional gospel, but mostly the message is love, so we sing songs that encourage positivity from all sorts of artists, including Taj Mahal, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson… it’s all about spreading love. This is always an awesome time and a stellar lineup. This week we will have Edgar Clark on drums, Stan Watkins on bass, Chad Mason on keys, and Daryl Dunn on sax. Come on friends, let’s fellowship. This is 100% non-denominational and non-judgmental, as long as you believe in love. Waller’s Website Event Link
Also on Sunday, 12/5, I have the rare privilege of performing on the rooftop of the Eastern, a new event venue in Atlanta, preceding the Robert Earl Keen show. I could not be more excited for this. I have several friends who were already excited about this show, and to be a part of it at all is an incredible honor. There will be a few Christmas songs and a lot of country. It’s about time to develop Mae Rhetta’s character in the wave of this new album coming out in 2022 so let’s go. And what a great opportunity to perform at this new venue. I believe you may need tickets to the show to get into my performance, but contact me personally if you have questions and are interested. I’ll be playing around 6:30 and the show starts at 8. Saturday, 12/11, I will be back at Ott Farms in Elijay. It’s been awhile since I’ve been up there and I kinda miss the view. And this weather in Atlanta is trying to stay in the fall. Even if it doesn’t stay warm that day, they have a newly enclosed patio and the view is still as beautiful. I’ll be playing some Christmas songs as well as all your other favorites and a few songs of my own. They also have a ton of local art as well as delicious wine if you are looking for some Christmas gifts. Music is from 1:30-5:30. Ott Website
Friday, 12/17, I will be performing with Wasted Potential Brass Band at the Blind Willie’s Holiday Party. We will be playing the usual fun and games as well as some of your favorite Christmas Classics, New Orleans brass band style. Doors at 7, Music at 9, $10 cover. Blind Willie’s Website Event Link
