Well, as many of us know from our gas bill, summer is officially here! And oh, what a busy summer it is going to be! Let me fill you in on what’s going down.

This week I am headed to the studio to work on some new songs for Wasted Potential. With our latest release Ruining the Surprise Party still hot from being pressed, we are excited about heading to the studio to create even more new music for your earholes. More info on this to come, but in the meantime you should check out the last album…

This coming Sunday I will be playing some tunes at Limerick Junction in the Virginia Highlands. If you guys haven’t been here before, it leads me to ask ‘Why not?’ Awesome staff and right on the strip so plenty of people watching. I’ll be playing mostly original tunes with a possible few covers spattered in. Great place to pour back a Guinness, but don’t worry, they have tequila too. And it’s next door to Blind Willie’s so you can get your blues on and then head over my way. I will be there this Sunday, June 9, as well as next Thursday, June 13, and the last Thursday of the month, June 27. All shows start at 9 pm. No cover.

Next Saturday, June 15, I will be debuting my band at Northside Tavern in midtown Atlanta. Now most of you know I have been playing there for years in one form or another. I have played there with Mudcat and Wasted Potential as well as playing there for solo acoustic early shows and other festivals. But this is the first opportunity I have had to bring my band and their energy to the stage. I am extremely excited about this. For those of you who are local and know how hard I’ve been trying to get my name out in the community, I would love to see you next weekend. I can use all the love and support!! Let’s get my name into a regular rotation at this historic venue. For those of you who are new to the newsletter, Northside Tavern is a dive bar that is notorious for awesome music. They are one of the oldest standing venues in the city and have been featured in numerous movies. If you haven’t been yet, now is the perfect time to pop that cherry! We will be bringing my mix of originals, soul, gospel, and blues. Music starts at 10 pm. and goes until 2 am.

The following weekend, June 21 & 22, I will be returning to my home base at Doc’s Food & Spirits in Smyrna. I can’t believe I’ve been playing at this spot for 13 years!!! Located directly across from the Battery, Doc’s has been serving up great late night pub food and live music for almost 40 years. I really do consider these folks my family. My band and I will be mixing it up with my originals and a ton of your favorite r&b. Music starts at 10 pm both Friday and Saturday night, and goes until 3 on Friday and 2:30 on Saturday. The band will also be back at Doc’s 7/19 & 7/20.

Then Sunday, June 23 I will be returning to Ott Farms and Vineyards in Elijay. I don’t even know what else to say if hanging out at a vineyard in the north GA mountains and listening to live music on a Sunday afternoon is not enticing enough, other than to say how sweet the owners are and that they promote local artists. Music is from 1:30-5:30. Seriously, this is your view for the afternoon…

Sneak peek into July:

The first few weeks of July I will be headed out to CA to work more on recording my country album. It’s still happening y’all. Out of sight, not out of mind. More details on that as well as the ‘tour’ out there to follow. I’m hoping you’ll miss me, because I’ll be back with the band at Doc’s on 7/19 & 7/20 and am expecting a big welcome home! Looking forward to playing a new spot in July, The Monkey Barrel on Whitlock in Marietta on 7/27 and the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Gospel Sunday with Mandi and the Major 7s will be happening at Blind Willie’s in July on 7/28. It will be a little different than the usual format as it is 21+ and music will not start until 6:30. But I know you all miss the good vibes and have been waiting for me to relocate the show since our beloved Darwin’s closed. I’ll send you more July details soon!

Looking forward to seeing all of you out and about this month!!! Don’t forget to #supportlocalmusic by going out and supporting live music, loving and sharing our songs and videos, liking our pages on social media, and buying our art and merchandise! Only you can keep music alive!!! We love you and can’t wait to see your smiling face in the crowd.
