Hey y’all! My what a strange trip it’s been! I have been so busy I haven’t had much time to reach out to you so I wanted to give you a quick update.

Hopefully many of you saw the update that Whiskey In the Parking Lot was finally released in June. It is available for download on CDBaby and iTunes, or if you come to one of my shows you may purchase a Whiskey In the Parking Lot flask for $10 and receive a free download. (Keep a lookout – these flasks as well as several other merchandise items will be available on the website later this month…) You can also stream the song on Spotify. This song was featured in a scene from the independent film Live Or Die In La Honda, which had its first public screening last month. Not only was the movie fantastic, I had the opportunity to hang out with some of the cast and crew while I was out in L.A. and I instantly made new friends. I will have more information soon on the release of the soundtrack for the movie, which will also include this song. (It will also be included on my country album, which we are looking to record the beginning of 2018. Give me a minute, I got a lot going on!!!)

I just got back from Athens after doing some studio work with Wasted Potential, and I gotta tell you, not only do I love hanging out with these guys, they know how to make some pretty killer music! I’ll give you more details about those recordings as they become available but just know, you should be excited.

Tonight, I will be playing Grand Champion BBQ in Roswell on Canton Street. I don’t play too many acoustic gigs these days, so I really look forward to it when I do. I’ll play some stuff off the new album as well as your favorite covers. I’m out on the patio, but if it gets too hot for you I’ll have Mandi Strachota folding fans to keep you southern comfortable. This is by far one of my favorite bbq spots in town and the staff is always super friendly. Plus it’s right in the heart of Roswell so you get the added bonus of people watching. I’ll be playing from 6:30-9:30 so come grab some dinner before you get your party on. Or get your party on with me, that works too.

Sunday, July 9th, as well as Sunday, July 30th, I’ll be playing gospel with some of my favorite people at Darwin’s Burgers and Blues in Sandy Springs. For those of y’all that haven’t made it to the new location yet, you owe it to yourself to check out the new digs. There’s more room inside as well as in the parking lot, plus the same great music, and the ever entertaining and sweet Miss Claire behind the bar. We’ll be playing gospel of all different backgrounds – Traditional, blues, country, r&b, reggae – you really can’t go wrong with a little gospel on a Sunday afternoon. I’ll be backed by my good friends Sylvester Ogletree, Jon Schwenke, and Chad Mason. Music is from 4-7 both days.

Don’t forget, every Wednesday afternoon I am at Darwin’s with my amazing friends Hayley Gray and Skye Paige in the group we call Bytchcraft. Every Wednesday is Wild Women Wednesday, and we have a ton of fun and play a bunch of original or off the beaten path music. Treat yourself and get some live music with your lunch. You never know what shenanigans will ensue.

Most importantly, this month I will be taking a day trip to Nashville to retrieve my records. Yeah, that’s right folks, it’s time to start getting really excited. My buddy Hayley Gray is coming with me to help document our journey. There will be some playing of the album as well as some possible side adventures. Be prepared to get a sneak peak at what is happening this coming week. Stay tuned…

I am currently in the works of organizing the release shows and I will post those dates as soon as the arrangements have been made. That being said, I am confident I will have the albums before the weekend of performances at my home base at Doc’s in Smyrna. I will not be making a formal announcement for this availability, nor will the album be available online yet. But if you want to be one of the first privileged few to purchase a record on the down low, I would recommend showing up to Doc’s at the end of the month (hint, hint…) We will be there on July 28 & 29th. It’s been awhile since I’ve played at Doc’s and I am really looking forward to seeing all those familiar faces. Plus this band is fantastic. I will be accompanied by Sylvester Ogletree on drums, Maria Montgomery on bass, and Davy Collins on guitar and keys. We will play a few songs off the new album and your favorite r&b and funk. Music is from 10-3 on Friday night and 10-2:30 on Saturday.

This month I will also be releasing a video featuring one of the new songs off the album, These Shoes. Keep a lookout for those details. There will be an album discount for anyone who shares the video on social media…

I will also be playing with Wasted Potential Brass Band a few times this month. We will be back at Venkman’s on July 21, at Little Five Arts Alive on July 22, and playing a party in Piedmont Park on July 29th.
