Hey everybody! July is here! Yeah, I know, it has been for over a week. The pups and I as you may have heard have been dealing with fireworks and other issues so we have already had a pretty dramatic month! This month the focus is on getting the house in order and once again, my FAVORITE, studio time!!! This album is coming along really well so far. I cannot express the magic that happens at Green House Studios so you will just have to wait to hear for yourself. I will let you know more details soon and will be asking for your help in the coming months leading up to the release, but my second album Unleashed will most likely be available for purchase this winter. YAY!
I have chosen to keep the gigs slim this month so I can concentrate on writing and recording and development, but the few gigs I have are solid and I would love to see you in the coming weeks!
Tomorrow, Friday, 7/10, I will be returning to Suburban Tap in Marietta. This is a local favorite as many of my friends do or used to hang out there or even work(ed) there so I am really hoping for a big turnout. Not far from home for my Cobb County folks, Suburban Tap is dedicated to providing quality live music on the weekends as well as good pub food and plenty of TVs. They also have an extensive beer selection for my fellow beer nerds. Children are allowed in this venue as smoking is restricted to outside. Suburban Tap is located at 1318 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, GA 30068. Contact them at (770)977-4467 or check out their website at www.suburbantap.com. Music is from 10-1.
Next Friday, 7/17, I will be returning to Three Dollar Cafe Tenside. Located at the intersection of 10th Street and Northside Drive, this new location is in the heart of an upcoming new community in midtown/westside and is quickly building character. The restaurant keeps with the longstanding reputation of Three Dollar with a long tap wall, pub food and multiple TVs. Add some quality live music and how can you go wrong? For my intown folks, Three Dollar is located at 1000 Northside Dr NW in Atlanta, GA 30318. You can contact them at (404)549-8362 or visit their website at threedollarcafe.com. Music is from 9-1. Kids are also allowed at this venue.
And finally, the event you’ve all been waiting for… On Friday, 7/24, I will be making my debut at Darwin’s as I open for Hector Anchondo. I know many of you have seen me at Darwin’s before, but this will be the first in a series of appearances for me to play my own music. I am looking forward to playing songs off my debut album as well as introducing some of you (or reintroducing in some cases) to some tracks we are recording for the new album. Darwin’s is a long time favorite of mine and one of the first venues I discovered when I moved to Atlanta. Although ownership has changed hands a couple times, the venue has not lost its reputation for great music on any given night of the week. PS they also have awesome burgers! I will be opening for Hector Anchondo, a country blues artist from Missouri who was highly recommended from the blues challenge in Memphis. My set begins at 8 and the party continues throughout the night so I recommend taking an uber or a cab for this one. Parking can be sticky sometimes no matter how hard the venue is working to fix it! $10 cover. Darwin’s is located at 1598 Roswell Rd in Marietta. You can call them at (470)399-5060 or visit them online at www.darwinsburgers.com. Again, smoking is restricted to outside, but there is an awesome back porch if that’s your thing.
That’s all she wrote this month! That gives you limited choices so your decision won’t be so difficult 😉 This way y’all aren’t spread out and we can pack the house every Friday this month! In the meantime I’ll be recording an AWESOME album for your listening pleasure and coordinating future tour dates.
Love life, love what you do, love who you are. See you soon!
